Dr. Sandra Lee, or better known as Dr. Pimple Popper is back for season 4. In a sneak peek clip, she’s seen treating a man with what’s best described as an “extra nose.”
Before her debut on TLC, dermatologist, Dr. Lee began posting her videos on her YouTube channel which was titled, Dr. Pimple Popper. She would post various dermatological procedures for the internet’s subculture known as “popaholics.” Dr. Lee’s content, especially videos of her extracting cysts, blackheads, and huge lipomas, became a huge hit. Though it seemed like no matter how much content, it wasn’t enough to satisfy the pimple-popping community. That’s when TLC offered Dr. Pimple Popper her own show which premiered on TV in 2018. The California-based dermatologist is now in front of the camera, instead of just a voice in the background. Now, Dr. Pimple Popper is back and she guarantees bigger, better and more explosive pops.
Dr. Lee is exploring some of the rarer dermatological issues that require more expertise and care than just popping a pimple. It seems Dr. Lee really has her work cut out for her in season 4, according to an exclusive clip (via People). Dr. Lee met her new patient, limo driver David who suffers from Rhinophyma, which causes a buildup of tissue on the nose. When Dr. Lee entered the room, she said to him, “You are a good looking guy under there. We just got to take that nose off. That extra nose.” She then revealed the name of the rare dermatological condition, saying, “This is a condition called Rhinophyma.” She explained, “It’s a condition that is associated with Rosacea. It causes an overgrowth of tissue, particularly on the nose.” She observed that the “extra nose” is on the left side of his real nose, noting that the mass “is really obstructing his nasal canal, making it hard to breathe.”
Removing the mass will require surgery. As she prepares for it, she notices a small red bump under David’s left eye that he revealed has appeared there within the last six months. She revealed to the cameras, “That is something we do need to address. But I need to focus my attention and focus his attention on his Rhinophyma and let’s treat that first.” She consulted a coworker about the disconcerting bump under his left eye but says that she wants to take care of the Rhinophyma first before addressing the other bump, due to not wanting to “worry” David. She said, “I want him to really understand what we are doing and be calm for the Rhinophyma surgery, which is a big surgery.” Dr. Lee revealed to viewers, “I am going to try and remove as much of this Rhinphyma as I can and really unearth that handsome, debonaire limo driver that I know is in there… I really hope this goes smoothly.”
Fans can watch the results of David’s surgery as well as many other dermatological cases that will be featured on season 4 of Dr. Pimple Popper. The TLC show satisfies “popaholics” nationwide, transforms the lives of the patients on the screen, while showcasing Dr. Lee doing what she does best, being the most lovable dermatologist on TV.
Dr. Pimple Popper airs Thursdays at 9pm EST on TLC.
