When asked about the inspiration of the drink, can, and lifestyle, they responded, “[It’s] a celebration of the dreamers, the seekers and the thinkers. Those who appreciate good things in life with care, humor, mindfulness and beauty,” said the founders, “we scoured the West Coast to discover and uncover the best of each state’s wine regions. We set out to remove all constraints to producing the best wines we could. We chose non-vintage wines so they would be ready to drink as soon as they’re released. No guessing.” The can itself is fairly small, registering in at 250mL a can, at 8.4 oz, two small glasses or one third of a bottle. You do the math.
And to those who are concerned on environmental safety, we were rest assured about the bi-product of these cans, “[We] use aluminum cans—one of the world’s most recycled materials. It’s one of the ways we’re committed to sustainability. We’re also dedicated to giving back and we’ve reinforced our commitment by partnering with 1% for the Planet. Our 1% goes to support the preservation of wild spaces for us all to enjoy—now and tomorrow. The illustrations that adorn our cans celebrate these places and the native plants that live there.”
Though we were very curious about the overall flavor of the wine, especially the Rose. We were delighted to hear about the core flavors were, also, very California, “The core of the blend is Sonoma County Pinot Noir with old vine Mendocino Carignane and Lodi Zinfandel, adding savory depth and structure. Bone dry with juicy acidity to balance beautiful fruit. Guaranteed to make you smile,” the founders explained to us.
But sometimes California doesn’t cut it, the founders experimented with their white and added aromatic flavorings from Washington and Oregon alike, “we traveled to Oregon and Washington in pursuit of bright and beautiful characteristics. The resulting wine has weight and concentration but is also light on its feet. Dry, elegant and pretty with fruit and bright acidity to balance. There’s a lot of wine in this can.”
And to that, lets fête.
