Dwayne Johnson shared a new Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw poster with the world ahead of the film’s trailer release on Friday. The first spin-off movie in the Fast & Furious series comes nearly four years after franchise mainstay Vin Diesel first announced that plans for spin-off movies were underway.

Hobbs & Shaw will focus on two characters from the franchise, Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, portrayed by Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham respectively. Although plot details are still forthcoming, the two characters will go up against an evil international terrorist leader, Brixton, as portrayed by Idris Elba. Johnson offered a first look at the film in October 2018 with an image posted to social media that shows Hobbs & Shaw staring each other down with just a table between them. The caption suggested that the alliance between the two is a rocky one, meaning moviegoers can probably expect to see a lot of drama with these two characters learning how to get along.

Dwayne Johnson recently took to social media again to tweet a poster for the film. The tweet confirms the unlikely alliance between the two main characters with the statement “two worlds collide” and reminds everyone that the trailer will release tomorrow.

The Fast & Furious franchise is not without its conflict and controversy. After the tragic death of Paul Walker, one of its lead actors, many wondered if the series could continue without him. Hobbs & Shaw has also come under fire recently, too: longtime franchise producer Neal H. Moritz is suing Universal Pictures after the studio took his credit off the movie and dropped him from the project just before filming began. Moritz alleges that this happened after he disagreed with a verbal deal he made with Universal Pictures chair Donna Langley and Universal Pictures president Jimmy Horowitz. It is likely that this lawsuit won’t go anywhere at all, as verbal contracts are typically difficult to prove in court.

Despite these issues, though, it seems that there’s no stopping the Fast & Furious juggernaut and now with this spin-off movie releasing, as well as another in the works, the series continues to thrive. Johnson promises fans that Hobbs & Shaw will deliver a heart-pounding good time and that they “are going to f—ing love this movie.” Johnson and Statham both have great box office draw, so it’s likely that Hobbs & Shaw will take over movie theaters when it releases this summer.
