Dwayne Johnson uses Black Panther’s box office haul topping Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’s as motivation to work harder.  The sequel to the 1995 classic features Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Nick Jonas and Johnson as they expand the lore for a potential new long-running blockbuster franchise for Sony.

Black Panther continues to dominate the box office, having already earned $704 million all over the globe in just its 11-day run. It has set a brand new all-time high record for February ($202 million) and posed just a 46.5 percent drop in sales from its debut with an additional $108 million haul - the best second weekend performance for the MCU (outperforming The Avengers’ $103 million) and second-best over-all, just behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($149.2 million). With no blockbuster competition in the foreseeable future, the film is well tracking for over a $1 billion gross in the entirety of its worldwide run.

The pro-wrestler-turned-actor took it to his official Instagram account for one of his workout videos. Starting the clip by sharing how he finds the motivation to strictly follow his gym regimen despite the temptation to slack off, Johnson shifted gears and began talking about how Black Panther totally owned Jumanji at the box office saying: “But then I think about Black Panther kicking the sh*t out of Jumanji at the box office, that’s all the motivation I need, okay? That’s it. So Wakanda Forever.” He continued, earnestly adding: “I’m very proud of Ryan Coogler and the cast. Black Panther congratulations, so proud. Wakanda Forever, that’s all I need. That’s motivation enough.” Check out his post below:

Since its release in December, Jumanji has been steadily adding to its total gross with little to no competition, even holding its own against Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Thus far, it has already accumulated more than $900 million at the global box office, becoming Sony’s second highest grossing project, only behind 2012’s Skyfall, while, domestically, it follows the first Spider-Man film with a cume of $387.2 million. No wonder, Sony execs have already greenlit the sequel for the revitalized fantasy adventure franchise with writers Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, as well as director Jake Kasdan all returning.

Despite a creative approach to his congratulatory message, Johnson like many other Hollywood personalities, appear to be genuinely delighted with the success of a film like Black Panther considering its potential to change the landscape when it comes to racial and cultural awareness in media. And The Rock is set to join the superhero genre himself, as he’s attached to play villain Black Adam in WB’s DC Films Universe. Once believed to debut in David F. Sandberg’s Shazam (which Johnson is producing), the character is now rumored to make his big cinematic splash in Suicide Squad 2.
