The joke was a spoof campaign mocking Destiny’s Red Bull DLC campaign, which promised DLC to those North Americans who drank Red Bull. The mock Twitter hashtag campaign that Techland launched offered free DLC worldwide to players who drink water. The campaign named #DrinkForDLC required only a photo or video of you drinking water.
The campaign ended with over 15M Twitter followers and over 15K photos and videos tagged with the campaign. The company acknowledged this huge response and, as a result, has announced the three-part free DLC.
The DLC will come as part of Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition, which has been slated for release on February 9th of next year. It will include the following:
The Fountain of Youth - an all-new exploration-based quest available in the Old Town area. Water 2. 0 - the blueprint for a new throwable weapon that intensifies the electrocution effect of all other weapons. Water Challenges - two brand-new parkour challenges designed around the theme of water.
Players with the original game will receive a free update for Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition along with the free DLC content.
